A series of abstract images of the striking sandstone formations in the wilderness areas of the Colorado plateau.

IMAGE NOTES

"Abstract patterns in nature are central to my photographic style, so its not surprising that I have visited Lower Antelope Canyon in Arizona and the Coyote Buttes wilderness area on the Arizona/Utah border several times. Both provide a multitude of fascinating sandstone formations - in fact, so many that it is sometimes hard to choose, making photography in these places as mentally demanding as it is physically. Reflected light is key to many of these images, avoiding sun and sky to preserve the richness of colour in the rock. This approach also removes a sense of scale, helping to abstract the image and reveal the natural patterns."
